Jackie was born into a family about as uninvolved in horses as can be. One day a family friend invited her to ride, no helmet and bareback through the fields, and from then on she was hooked. After graduating from a lesson program, she found eventing. Jackie groomed for her trainer in exchange for more lessons, nannied for a junior hunter rider with a string to ride after school, learned to walk yearlings and racehorses for thoroughbred sales, taught lessons, rode tricky client horses, and eventually earned a spot as an FEI groom. She cut her own path to get her where she is today, and takes pride in noticing details and not turning the lights off until everything is done.
